Control Panel Design and Fabrication

Control Panel Design and Fabrication is a growing section of Apparatus Repair & Engineering's expertise. These control panels can be as simple or sophisticated as your design requires. A standard panel containing motor starters, relays, fuses and overloads is the beginning of the capabilities.

The next step may include VFD's, DC Drives, Solid State Reduced Voltage Starters, or an additional level of sophistication by including a PLC to assist in the control system. Still another level of your requirements may include Servo Motors and Controls, along with the addition of a "HIM" (Human Interface Module), using programming commonly known as a "Graphic User Interface" (GUI for short, or "Goo-ee"), on a computer monitor making it "user-friendly" for your operators. Many industrial shop floors require that the "HIM" be a "Touch Screen" design, due to the hostile type environment in many industries. That's certainly within our capabilities. Finally, with the automation in today's industries, robots are becoming a "common employee" on production lines, and A.R.&E. can help you with your robotics needs.

Our application engineers will come to your facility for a "walk-through" of the equipment being controlled and take it from there. You still have complete control over the appearance and functionality of the finished product, BUT you don't need a full engineering staff to do the tedious design and layout work. Or if you already have a staff, you can let them spend their time working on the design and manufacture of the final product and let us do the nitty-gritty work of electrical design, interface, and even installation. That's right. We can assist you even further by installing the control panel and wiring it to your machine, right at your facility. That way, your personnel can concentrate on their expertise, "building your equipment", while A.R.&E. personnel concentrate on their expertise..... electrical controls and motors.

But there are times when a production type of control panel simply "won't do the job". That's when the "Build to Spec" project fits the bill. We sit down with your engineering and design personnel and, together, establish a set of operational parameters for the controls. Once that's accomplished, we can take it from there and do the remainder of the design, or we can continue the collaboration with your personnel and your personnel can complete the electrical design. Either way, once the design is finalized, Apparatus Repair & Engineering, Inc. will build the controls to YOUR specs. And when it's finished, the project will include CAD drawings of all wiring diagrams and layouts. Manufacturer's instruction sheets and user manuals for all the equipment installed in the panel will be inserted in a 3-ring binder, ready for filing in your maintenance library.

No matter what the level of requirements for your project, A.R.&E. can help you design the system, fabricate the complete control panel, program any PLC or servo drives required, load the programs into the system and assist in debugging the operations. And finally, if the circumstances require it, we can further assist you by going to the final user's site with you, for system startup. You can't get much more complete than that, and you need only call our office to get things started.

So for your next project, consider the possibility of working with Apparatus Repair & Engineering, Inc. personnel and using our expertise as "Design & Build" professionals. Contact us to discuss the possibilities.
