| Drives Today, the term Drives refers to numerous electronic devices that control AC and DC motors but NORMALLY is used in reference to that device that can control one of those motors AND vary the speed. This is not always necessary, but for the most part, a drive is used to control the speed of an electric motor. Power Devices that control the starting and stopping of a motor, but do NOT vary the speed are usually referred to as STARTERS or CONTACTORS and these devices can be found on the Controls page of our website. Use one of the links below or on the navigation bar to the right to visit the appropriate page for the type of device you'd like to investigate. |
